Tammy Dewar was the recipient of the Excellence in Leadership through Coaching & Mentoring Award in 2014. We got in touch to ask her about what receiving an award had meant to her, and what kinds of community leadership she's involved in nowadays.
What did it mean to you to receive a Victoria Leadership Award?
It was a big honour for me. I feel blessed to be able to do the work I do and having my peers nominate me was very special. Winning the award was humbling and exciting all at the same time! There are so many people who do great work in the community - it was amazing to be honoured alongside them. The awards ceremony was so well done and very memorable for me.
What are you up to now? (If you have a current activity you'd like us to link to, include that!)
Well, I have spent the last year of my life completely obsessed by writing a book! It has just been published and is called How to Forgive your Boss. Forgiveness has been a theme in my life and I noticed that more and more of the people with whom I worked were struggling to make sense of workplace experiences. I like to say that the book actually wrote me :)
I have a book launch on December 1 in Victoria. You can register here: http://tinyurl.com/ohj8paz
